Ms. Shannon Hadeed worked as a prosecutor for four years at the Lynchburg Commonwealth Attorney’s Office where she prosecuted a wide range of traffic offense, misdemeanors, and felonies including rape, robbery, and murder. While at the Commonwealth Attorney’s office, she became an expert on DUI offenses. She gave trainings to the Lynchburg Police Department on DUI’s, 4th Amendment issues, and many other subjects. She also taught the DUI basics at the Police Academy for officers in training. She worked closely with the NHTSA to teach classes sponsored by NHTSA to the law enforcement agencies of Virginia regarding DUIs and traffic checkpoints.
Prior to becoming a prosecutor in Lynchburg, Ms. Hadeed worked as an intern at the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office. She also interned with the in-house- counsel for PriceWaterHouse Coopers in Madrid, Spain where she worked on international corporation contracts, mergers, and labor law.
Ms. Hadeed received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1998 from Occidental College in Los Angeles, California and her Juris Doctor degree from William and Mary in 2004. Ms. Hadeed was the first law student to receive the Rex Smith award for excellence in writing. She was also one of ten students to receive the Dean’s Certificate upon graduation. She was the Editor-in-Chief of the Advocate while she attended William and Mary, and she also worked as a writer and editor for The Occidental while achieving her undergraduate degree.
Between law school and undergrad, Ms. Hadeed was a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic. For two and a half years she worked with cocoa and coffee farmers to increase their knowledge of organic certification, grafting, and other means of improving both the quality of the crops and their price.
Ms. Hadeed now represents clients charged with DUI, reckless driving, speeding, driving on a suspended license, misdemeanors, and felony charges.
